Creating a healthier, happier you.
TOP 3 THINGS TO KNOW FOR YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY
Have you ever wondered why you aren’t losing weight when you seem to be doing everything right? You workout everyday, feel like you are eating healthy but the scale doesn’t budge. It seems like your body just isn’t changing no matter what you do?
There are 3 main mindset shifts that have to happen to create a healthy lifestyle. I wish more people knew about these 3 things and it would make their journey a lot more enjoyable!
I have seen way too many clients hit a wall or self-sabotage because they didn’t know these 3 tips I’m going to share with you.
1. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FITNESS AND HEALTH.
Just because someone looks fit and toned doesn't necessarily mean they are healthy! When I was training for my fitness competition I looked ripped and fit. But I was taking caffeine pills, sleeping so I wouldn't feel hungry, my hormones were off, I was working out long hours a day and I was miserable.
The best version of yourself might not be
the smallest version of yourself. And that's okay!
Real, sustainable, healthy goals involve how you feel, your digestion, the nutrients you put in your body, and how you care for your body. The shouldn't just be based on your outward appearance.
Now I prioritize how my body feels, fueling my goals and eating as much as I can to maintain my progress, my mental health, and my life balance. I'm happier and healthier and want you to be too!
2. YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW YOU LOOK.Let's just be honest, if you are miserable but you have a six pack, i's not worth it! Your quality of life come from so much more than your appearance.
- Do you have good relationships in your life? Are you able to nurture those relationships or just focus on your own goals?
- What do you do to fuel your cup? Do you meditate, read, or dedicate time to personal development?
- Do you value YOUrself? Do you know that you are more than just your body?
- Do you have a healthy relationship with food?
Remember, your body is the least interesting thing about you.
Keeping your mind in a healthy place means you are able to evaluate your life balance with your goals. If you lose that perspective it's easy to self-sabotage because the results you get will never be enough.
3. GIVE IT TIME.
As much as we all want to see immediate results from our efforts, that's just not how it works! Being realistic with your expectations will keep you engaged in the process and not discouraged because you're not getting overnight results.
If you want to get lasting results and not yo-yo, you have to put in the time and patience! It takes time to change. It's not a quick fix.
You'll mess up and it will likely take a lot longer than you think to get there. You will have to sacrifice and it will be hard, it's supposed to be!
Who you become in the process is what matters most.
- You will become disciplined and learn how to prioritize what matters to you.
- You will learn time management.
- You will learn to trust yourself.
- You will learn how to pick back up and keep going to move past the all-or-nothing mentality.
Creating lasting change in your life so you don't have to keep starting over is hard and takes a lot of effort, but it's worth it.
- daily mental wins
- focusing on your input instead of the outcome
You can do this! When you shift your mindset to focus on being healthy vs being fit, prioritizing your mental health, and giving your self time - you'll see the magic and real change happen.
