Creating a healthier, happier you.

4 SECRETS TO STAY ON TRACK WITH YOUR HEALTH GOALS

Having choices can be a good thing, but sometimes having TOO many choices can keep you from making healthy decisions. When can I squeeze in a workout, what should I make for dinner, is that a healthy snack? I call that kind of choice overload decision fatigue.

Let’s face it, mom-life can get crazy busy. If you don’t prepare ahead of time, then you’re most likely going to make the easiest choice in the moment.

And the easiest option isn’t always the best.

Today, I’m going to give you my FOUR main tips to eliminate decision fatigue in your daily life so you can set yourself up for success. And remember, even if you do just one of these and build on them over time, that’s progress!

1. LAY OUT YOUR WORKOUT CLOTHES THE NIGHT BEFORE

Laying out your workout clothes the night before will make it super easy to just get up and go when it’s time to work out. Skip searching for the right top or bottom. When you decide what to wear the night before, you’ll be so much more likely to just toss them on and get moving.

This also helps you decide when you want to go to the gym: morning, afternoon, or evening. As you lay out your clothes, think about your schedule for the next day. If you start each day with a specific schedule in mind, you’re more likely to show up and hold yourself accountable.

(My favorite activewear ever is Cleo Harper! It's all I wear and is so comfortable, supportive, and flattering.)

2. MEAL PREP NUTRITIOUS & BALANCED MEALS

Meal prepping can take a bit of time, but I promise this step is so worth it. When the week starts flying by, you’re going to be grateful for those pre-made healthy, and delicious meals that you can prepare quickly and eat on the go. My Nourish Cookbooks have a ton of super easy seasonal meals that are designed for your whole family.

I’ve found that when I prep meals in advance, I have more flexibility in my schedule overall. I’m not running to the grocery store at the last minute to grab something for a recipe or spending time each night prepping and cooking a whole meal. Plus, these meals give me the energy and nutrients I need to get through the week!

3. PUT YOUR SUPPLEMENTS AT EYE LEVEL

Okay, so my third tip seems like a simple one, but it can make a huge difference. Taking supplements is a big part of feeling your best. But with so many things to juggle, it can be hard to remember to take them every day.

It’s tough to get all of the vitamins and minerals you need through food alone. Adding in supplements can keep your immune system functioning properly, help maintain your energy levels, and even improve your sleep. Your best bet to stay consistent with taking supplements is to put them out in a spot where you’ll actually see them when you’re walking through your home.

Here are a few options:

  • In a visible spot in the bathroom
  • Out on your kitchen counter
  • On your bedroom dresser

Keeping your supplements in an easy-to-spot place will give you that little nudge you need to take them every day!

4. REVIEW YOUR WORKOUT BEFORE GETTING TO THE GYM

Having a set workout routine can help you stay on track - especially if you’re new to fitness. Once you have your routine together, I recommend reviewing your workouts before you get to the gym. Knowing where you need to be and what to expect ahead of time will help you achieve your goals!
