Get fit

Equipment Needed if You Select Home Workouts:

  • One medium free weight (5lb-15lb). weight set that is challenging for you.
  • A bench is also great but not required. You could use something else like a piano bench, stair, sturdy chair etc.
  • Some moves include a yoga ball, disc sliders and booty bands to add variety and enhance the moves. You can find my favorite fitness equipment and accessories HERE. Grab yours now!
  • If you do not want to get the disc sliders or booty bands that is okay too, I have modifications listed.

Foundation for Lasting Change

This is my first time doing a program like this and I am so glad to have chosen to do the one by Body by Bree. From her instagram posts to the way her program is set up (working on physical, emotional and mental health- with different options of how to approach then) she and her team really create a program that helps you build a foundation for lasting change. I’ve had back problems for years and haven’t done much of anything for 2 years so knew I needed to start slowly. I loved her idea of floor vs ceiling goals and that idea alone has helped me so much. Just babystepping my way through the program, but trying to celebrate that I am daily meeting my floor goals. I did have a few personal setbacks (leg injury from not properly stretching one day that has lingered along with a nasty case of poison ivy for 3 weeks) that made my goal of 5 day/week workouts challenging. But since my floor goals were simply to move for at least 30 minutes those days, I felt okay when I had to substitute a certain move or even modify how I was doing something. I also appreciate the different choices on workouts (beginner, advanced) and how I wanted my macro count (lose weight faster vs slower/not hungry). There truly are a lot of options. The daily podcasts available and the mindful moments are important and something not often included in a workout program. That’s the difference here- she’s helping make a life change, not just changing your physical body. In in the past 8 weeks, I’ve gotten stronger, learned more about food and lost some weight/inches. I’m excited to continue on in my health journey.
